This TechFile provides information on the Array Support Library (ASL) for LSI variant arrays in A/P-C and A/P-F mode on Veritas Volume Manager (tm) 5.0 for Solaris sparc.

Package name: VRTSLSIasl
Package Description: LSI MultiVID Array Support Library
Package version: 1.0,REV=08.12.2008.17.08 for ASL and 1.0,REV=07.28.2008.20.22 for APM.
Supported versions of Veritas Volume Manager: 5.0
Supported Arrays: SUN 6130,SUN6140, SUN6540, SUN2540, SUN2530 and Flexline 200/300 series

ASL Installation Instructions:
Before adding any ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled:
# vxdctl mode
mode: enabled

NOTE:
Before installing this ASL package, Please remove any external ASL packages that are installed on this system for SUN 2540, SUN 6130, SUN 6140, SUN 6540, STK 6540 and Flexline 200/300 series. Please refer to following example to remove VRTSSTK2540 and VRTSSTKasl.

# pkginfo | egrep "VRTSST2540|VRTSSTKasl" | awk '{ print $2 }'
Then use "pkgrm" to remove the above packages


1. At the bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL package in /tmp/asl
# mkdir /tmp/asl

2. After downloading VRTSLSI-MultiVID-5.0_asl_apm_v3_309216.tar.Z, verify the cksum of the file
# cksum VRTSLSI-MultiVID-5.0_asl_apm_v3_309216.tar.Z
3333859048      76597   VRTSLSI-MultiVID-5.0_asl_apm_v3_309216.tar.Z

3. Uncompress the file:
# zcat VRTSLSI-MultiVID-5.0_asl_apm_v3.tar_309216.Z  | tar xvf -

4. Install the ASL using pkgadd
# cd /tmp/asl
# pkgadd -d . VRTSLSIasl

5. Install the APM using pkgadd
# pkgadd -d . VRTSLSIapm

6. Verify pkginfo:
# pkginfo -l VRTSLSIasl
  PKGINST:  VRTSLSIasl
     NAME:  LSI MultiVID Array Support Library
 CATEGORY:  system
     ARCH:  sparc
