BUG REPORT: All of the files backed up cannot be seen selected for recovery via the Restore Files UI when one folder contains a high volume of files or changes.

Solution

Overview:
When restoring files from a PureDisk data selection where there is a high volume of files or file changes, problems may be encountered listing the files available for restore.  Within "Restore files" in the GUI, not all versions or files may be displayed in a given folder if more than 2000 files or file versions are available in that folder.

Workaround:
The backup files can be found in Find Files screen, the problem is limited to the user being able to view files from the Restore Files screen.   The problem is only based in the user interface.  Selecting the root folder or drive itself will still restore the folder or drive's contents properly, even when file data is missing from the GUI due to this bug.

Resolution:
Symantec has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue (ETrack 1400972) is present in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned at the end of this article.
