Running "vmglob -delete -devhost ..." command getting error "global device database record not found (152)"

Solution

ISSUE:
When attempting to run the "vmglob -delete -devhost ..." command to remove all Netbackup devices for a media server with obsolete devcie paths, the "global device database record not found (152)" was encountered.

ERROR CODE/MESSAGE:
"vmglob -delete -devhost ..." command encountered "global device database record not found (152)" error

DIAGNOSIS:
tpconfig -d showed at least one remaining tape drives still present as Standalone drives instead as opposed to being a robotic tape drive. All other tape drives and robot was successfully deleted.
"vmglob -listall -java" output is consistent with "tpconfig -d" output.
When attempting to delete the same tape drive via tpconfig menu, the error "drive NOT deleted" was encountered.
When attempting to delete the same tape drive manually via Java Display Console, the error "oprd returned abnormal status (96)" was encountered.
When attempting to delete the same tape drive via "vmglob -delete -drive -drvtype ... -serial ... -name ..." command, the error "invalid host name (136)" was encountered.
vmoprcmd -d would report the following errors:
oprd returned abnormal status (96)
IPC Error: Daemon may not be running
There were definitely no active jobs still present for this media server but "nbrbutil -dump" showed a MDS allocation key present for affected tape drive.

SOLUTION/WORKAROUND:
Once this MDS allocation was removed using the "nbrbutil -releaseMDS ..." command, the "vmglob -delete -devhost ..." command completed successfully and "vmglob -listall -java" output confirmed all devices for affected media server deleted successfully.
