Problem
Hardware Fault Errors may occur when performing operations with a tape device.
Error
0xe00084ed-Critical - The tape drive has a hardware fault or Warning - The memory in the tape cartridge has failed, which reduces performance.
Solution
Do not use the tape cartridge for further backup operations. Only use the tape media which is supported/recommended by the manufacturer of the tape drive. Try using a different tape and if the issue persists, open a support case with the hardware manufacturer & review/perform the steps in the following document:
