Cause



The error above can occur during a SharePoint restore of a site or sub-site because the user does not have the credentials to restore the site, or because the site already exists and Backup Exec cannot overwrite it.  
 


Solution



Confirm the site is deleted from SharePoint before attempting to restore it (including deleted from site collection trash).
 
Confirm BESLA (Backup Exec System Logon Account) is a Site Collection Administrator.
