{Recreate.ListFilesToRecreate} Failure in getting an interface. Check if all services are registered and started. Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0xC0041C82): The index contains too many volume sets for a federated search.

can only be applied to the following versions of Enterprise Vault for:
Enterprise
Vault 2007 sp4 revision 7.5-RG2534
Symptom(s)
FSAUtility -c
operations fail and a dtrace of FSAUtility reveals the following
error:
{Recreate.ListFilesToRecreate}
Failure in getting an interface. Check if all services are registered and
started. Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0xC0041C82):
The index contains too many volume sets for a federated search.
What
issues does this hotfix resolve?
FSAUtility -c
operations would fail for targets which have more than 5 index
volumes.

How to
install this hotfix:
Following
steps to be performed on EV Server(s):
1. Backup
FSAUtility.exe from current Enterprise Vault install location
2. Replace
the new FSAUtility.exe provided with this hot fix
3. Run
FSAUtility -c for recreate placeholders
4. You may
get a message that previous recreate placeholders operation got interrupted with
an option to resume. Click N to resume. Click Y to start fresh recreate
placeholders operation
5. FSAUtility
should complete with placeholders recreated successfully
How to
uninstall this hotfix:
1. Copy the
FSAUtility.exe from the backup
