General Notes:
This DDI package requires that Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows 5.1 be installed.
This SFW 5.1 DDI 1 package contains mpioprov.dll. The version of mpioprov.dll is updated to 5.1.1000.0.
This SFW 5.1 DDI 1 package contains SFW 5.1 GUI fix related to SFW DMP DSM display.
Notes about hardware compatibility:
Symantec maintains a Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) for Veritas Storage Foundation & High Availability Solutions 5.1 for Windows Products on the Veritas Support web site. The HCL gives information on HBAs, firmware, and switches that have been tested with each supported array. Check the HCL for details about your hardware before installing this DDI package.
Refer to SFW 5.1 HCL for the latest list of supported arrays. http://entsupport.symantec.com/docs/302144
IMPORTANT: Storage arrays may require additional configuration steps or updates to work with Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows and MPIO. Contact the manufacturer of the storage array for details.
Notes about Microsoft iSCSI:
Setting the load balancing with the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator for an iSCSI device that is claimed by Veritas DMP DSMs does not change the load balancing of the Veritas DMP DSM. Setting the load balancing of an iSCSI device claimed by a Veritas DMP DSM should be done with the SFW VEA GUI or CLI commands.
Known Problems:
After installing SFW 5.1 DDI-1 on a system that is running SFW 5.1 without the DMP option, the DMP option is shown as not being selected in the Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows (Server Components) entry of the Windows Control Panel. This is a known problem.
