Even after successful restoration of MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server) 2007 site collection from GRT (Granular Recovery Technology) backup, the account information of the restored site collection would not be restored in Japanese environment.

Problem
Even after successful restoration of MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server) 2007 site collection from GRT (Granular Recovery Technology) backup, the account information of the restored site collection would not be restored in Japanese environment.
Solution
This issue occurs only when the following conditions are met:
- MOSS 2007 was backed up with GRT enabled backup job.
- Japanese version of MOSS 2007
Suppose the following scenario to restore one of the site collection.
1. A restore job was launched. However, the job would fail with the following error:
V-79-57344-876 - Backup Exec cannot restore the security for a SharePoint top level Site. Ensure that the logon account has the proper credentials, and then try again.
2. The restore job was launched again.
This time, the job completes successfully.
However, all the account information of the restored site collection such as "Viewers", "Members", "Visitors", "Owners" and modifier account information of documents in the document library are not restored.
Workaround:
Backup/Restore the entire SharePoint farm without GRT.
Resolution:
This issue has been resolved in Backup Exec for Windows Servers version 12.5 Service Pack 2
