Solution



Summary
This hot-fix contains a critical fix for the Backup Exec for Windows Servers Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP) Option.  

Issue(s) Resolved
Exclusion statements in the backup selection list against a NetApp (or IBM) filer will cause the job to not backup the expected total amount of data.    http://entsupport.symantec.com/docs/316686

Prerequisites
  • Before installing this hotfix, Service Pack 1 must be installed. Service Pack 1 can be obtained here:  http://entsupport.symantec.com/docs/317392
  • Administrative privileges are required to install this hotfix.

Post Requisites
  • A full backup is recommended after installing this hotfix.
  • Remote Administration Console will need to be updated after installing this hotfix.
  • Recreate any affected NDMP selection lists. NOTE:  Because this update disables the ability to directly select folders on volumes protected by the NDMP option, you will need to select the volume and then use the Include/Exclude... button located near the top of the selection list screen to deselect specific folders.
