Solution

DDI-3 is the current package for Storage Foundation (tm) 5.0 for Windows (SFW), SFW 5.0 RP1, and RP2 , please read the Readme.txt located inside the download package for up-to-date information about this package and installation instructions.

NEW ADDITIONS TO THE DDI PACKAGE In addition to the arrays that were supported with earlier DDI packages and earlier releases of SFW, SFW 5.0 DDI-3 provides the following enhancements: DMP DSM Support (VHPEVA) for the HPEVA 4400 series array DMP DSM Support (VHMSA2) for the HP MSA 2212FC series array DMP DSM Support (VIBMAADS) for the IBM SAN VC array DMP DSM Support (VIBMAPDS) for the IBM DS3200/DS3300 series array DMP DSM Support (VENGAP) for the IBM DS4500 series array DMP DSM Support (VEQLOGIC) for the Dell Equallogic series array DMP DSM Support (VXIOTECH) for the XioTech series array DMP DSM Support (VXiV) for the IBM XiV series array GENERAL NOTES

This DDI package requires that Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows 5.0 be installed. This SFW 5.0 DDI-3 package contains mpioprov.dll. This mpioprov.dll contains fixes that were contained in the mpioprov.dll of SFW 5.0 DDI-1 and SFW 5.0 DDI-2. The version of mpioprov.dll is updated to 5.0.3000.0.

This SFW 5.0 DDI-3 package contains updated Microsoft MPIO binaries. The version of Microsoft MPIO binaries is updated to 1.18.

Use the SFW DMP Solution DDI entry in the Windows Control Panel to remove or to make any changes to the SFW DMP Solution. Do not use the SFW 5.0 entry in the Windows Control Panel to change or remove DMP DSM options after the installation of any SFW 5.0 DDI package.

Symantec maintains a Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) for Veritas Storage Foundation & High Availability Solutions 5.0 for Windows Products on the Veritas Support web site. The HCL gives information on HBAs, firmware, and switches that have been tested with each supported array.

Check the HCL for details about your hardware before installing this DDI package.
