2009/03/10 17:09:30 VCS WARNING V-16-10061-16501 ESXHost:esx_host:monitor:ESX user's password not specified.

CAUSE:
The installer never updated the main.cf to include the username and password for the root user.

Incorrect ESXHost entry main.cf

ESXHost esx_host (
Critical = 0
)

SOLUTION:
Looking at the ESXHostTypes.cf there is a User and Password argument.

static str Operations = None
str HostName
str User
str Password
str NodeName
)

The user name and password needs to be specified.

Create an encrypted password using vcsencrypt:

#/opt/VRTSvcs/bin/vcsencrypt -agent

Enter New Password:
Enter Again:
drhPirGrhJejFjg

Update the ESXHost with the username root along with the password generated by vcsencrypt.

ESXHost esx_host (
Critical = 0
User = root
Password = drhPirGrhJejFjg
)

Restart VCS with the updated ESXHost config
