Problem
Differences between the DCOM and HTTP versions of the Enterprise Vault Outlook Add-Ins.
Solution
The following is a list of what the DCOM version can do that the HTTP version can not.
1. When viewing the properties of Outlook folders or the mailbox root, an Enterprise Vault tab is available which shows information about the policy that has been applied.
a. This can be controlled in the Advanced tab of the Exchange Mailbox policy, and the Desktop policy for Enterprise Vault 8.
2. When archiving an item, a dialog box is presented giving the user the following options.
3. When restoring an archived item, a dialog box is presented giving the user the following options.
4. The client can be forced to use the HTTP version via the Advanced Mailbox policy, Desktop policy for Enterprise Vault 8, in case it's decided later to hide this extra information from users.
