Problem
Individual item restore of the Exchange Public Folders fails with error "The Job Failed with the following error: cannot open one or more mail messages because of unknown mapi error. Review the job log for more information."
Error
"The Job Failed with the following error: cannot open one or more mail messages because of unknown mapi errors. Review the job log for more information."
Solution
Make sure that the System Logon Account and the Backup Exec Service Account are set up as in the following technical article:
If the restore still fails or the accounts have already been setup correctly, give the System Logon Account, and Backup Exec Service Account explicit owner permissions over the Public Folder directories that they are attempting to restore into.
