Problem
Installation of license keys in evaluation mode in Backup Exec fails with error "Failed to install SQL Express BKUPEXEC instance: error 1627"
Error
"Failed to install SQL Express BKUPEXEC instance: error 1627"
Solution
1. Go to Tools > Install Options and License keys on this Media Server.
2. From the list remove all the licenses and components that are already installed so that Backup Exec will now run in evaluation mode.
3. Reboot the Backup Exec server.
4. Run the Backup Exec Installation. Enter all the licenses and click Next until the installation completes.
