This TechFile
provides information about the Array Support Library (ASL) for HP XP128 and
XP1024 arrays on Veritas Volume Manager 4.0 and 4.1 for Solaris Sparc.

ASL Package Version: 2.2,REV=07.31.2007.15.43
Supported versions of Veritas Volume Manager: 4.0 and 4.1
Supported Arrays: HP XP128 and XP1024 (Active/Active)
Installation Instructions:
1. At the
bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL
package
2. After
downloading HPXP1_Sol_Sparc_vm4.x_v2.0.tar_324055.gz, extract the
file:
#
gunzip HPXP1_Sol_Sparc_vm4.x_v2.0.tar_324055.gz
#
tar -xvf HPXP1_Sol_Sparc_vm4.x_v2.0.tar_324055
3. Before adding any ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled
# vxdctl mode
mode: enabled
Warning:
If installing on Solaris 9, then set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to /usr/lib.

4. To install the package type:
#
pkgadd -d . HPXP1
5. After the package is installed, you must execute the
vxdctl enable command to claim the disk
array.
# vxdctl enable
Note: In some cases, it has been reported that the installation of the ASL does not
take effect and vxdctl enable does not claim the enclosure and devices. In such cases, you can
execute the vxconfigd -k command in addition to vxdctl enable.
# vxdctl enable

6. After
running vxdctl enable, run the vxddladm list support command to ensure
that the ASL is correctly installed.
