Latest Breaking News for Veritas Storage Foundation Sybase ASE CE 5.0 and 5.0 PR1
Solution
Adding a new device to Veritas Volume Manager:
For Veritas Storage Foundation for Sybase CE on Linux, do not use the default CDS format when adding a new device to Volume Manager. This can lead to disk label corruption due to incorrect conversion of the number of blocks by Veritas Volume Manager.
Workaround: To add a device to Veritas Volume Manager, add the device using the "Sliced" format, which is Linux native.
Issues regarding Storage Foundation for Sybase CE:
1. "Symantec does not recommend mixing Sybase ASE CE with non-clustered versions of Sybase in a production environment."
2. "PrivNIC and MultiPrivNIC are not available for use with Storage Foundation for Sybase ASE CE"
