NOTE:
1. VxVM 5.0MP3
RP1 is the minimum Veritas Volume Manager version that is required for the ASL
and APM to function correctly.
2. All the
arrays are supported in Fibre Channel (FC) mode only
Installation
Instructions:
1. Create a
directory to store Huawei OceanStor ASL and APM package
#
mkdir /tmp/HUAWEI_ASLAPM
#
cd /tmp/HUAWEI_ASLAPM
2. At the
bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL and
APM package
3. After
downloading VRTSHUAWEIasl_apm_AIX_vm5.0MP3RP1_v1.0.tar_326294.gz in
/tmp/HUAWEI_ASLAPM/ directory, verify the cksum

4. Uncompress
the file and extract the packages

gunzip

tar xvf VRTSHUAWEIasl_apm_AIX_vm5.0MP3RP1_v1.0.tar_326294
5. Before
adding ASL/APM package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and
enabled
#
vxdctl mode
mode:
enabled
6. Install the
ASL as follows:
#
installp -acgX -d VRTSHUAWEIasl.bff VRTSHUAWEIasl
7. Install the
APM as follows:
#
installp -acgX -d VRTSHUAWEIapm.bff VRTSHUAWEIapm
8. After the
packages are installed, execute vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array
and to load the new APM
#
vxdctl enable
Note: In some
cases, it has been reported that the installation of the ASL and/or APM does not
take effect, and vxdctl enable does not claim the enclosure and devices. In such
cases, you can execute the vxconfigd -k -m enable command in addition to vxdctl
enable.
9. After
executing vxdctl enable, verify the output of the vxddladm listsupport
command
