Desciption: Veritas Array Policy Module for HUAWEI OceanStor Series
Arrays.

Version: 1.0
Supported
versions of Veritas Volume Manager: 5.0 MP1 and later
Supported
Arrays: Huawei OceanStor Series Arrays ( S5300, S5500, S5600, S6800E, S2300,
S2300E, S2600F, S2600C, VIS6300, VIS6600 ) in A/P-F mode
NOTE:
All the arrays are supported in Fibre Channel (FC) mode only
Installation
Instructions:
1. Create a
directory to download Huawei OceanStor ASL and APM package
#
mkdir /tmp/HUAWEI_ASLAPM
#
cd /tmp/HUAWEI_ASLAPM
2. At the
bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL and
APM package
3. After
downloading VRTSHUAWEIasl_apm_5.0_hpux_1123pi_v1.0.tar_326308.gz in
/tmp/HUAWEI_ASLAPM/ directory, verify the cksum

4. Uncompress
the file and extract the packages

gunzip
VRTSHUAWEIasl_apm_5.0_hpux_1123pi_v1.0.tar_326308.gz

tar xvf VRTSHUAWEIasl_apm_5.0_hpux_1123pi_v1.0.tar_326308
There will be
two directories created, 'asl' and 'apm' containing the ASL and APM packages
respectively.
5. Before
adding ASL/APM package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and
enabled
#
vxdctl mode
mode:
enabled
6. Install the
ASL as follows:
#
cd asl
#
swinstall -s `pwd` VRTSHUAWEIasl
7. Install the
APM as follows:
#
cd ../apm
#
swinstall -s `pwd` VRTSHUAWEIapm
8. After the
packages are installed, execute vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array
and to load the new APM
#
vxdctl enable
Note: In some
cases, it has been reported that the installation of the ASL and/or APM does not
take effect, and vxdctl enable does not claim the enclosure and devices. In such
cases, you can execute the vxconfigd -k -m enable command in addition to vxdctl
enable.
9. After
executing vxdctl enable, verify the output of the vxddladm listsupport
command

ASL version

11. Also verify
the output of vxdmpadm listapm command. The APM should be in Active
state.
