This hotfix can only be applied to the following versions of Enterprise Vault for:
Enterprise Vault 8.0 SP2


What issue does this hotfix resolve?
Recalling files in bulk numbers from a pass-through enabled volume, the following error may occur on the File Server: 'The server was unable to allocate from the system nonpaged pool because the pool was empty'.

EvPlaceholderService.exe     8.0.2.1697
evmf.sys                                 8.0.2.1697


How to install this hotfix:
The following steps are to be performed on the File Server:

1. Stop Enterprise Vault File Placeholder Service.

2. Go to the command prompt and run the following command:

fltmc unload evfilter

3. Take a backup of the following files:

EvPlaceholderService.exe
Evmf.sys

4. Copy the following file provided in download to the Enterprise Vault installation folder:  

EvPlaceholderService.exe

5. Copy the evmf.sys file provided in the download from the appropriate folder x86 or x64 depending on the environment to the following location:

C:\Windows\system32\drivers

6. Go to the command prompt and run the following command:

fltmc load evfilter

7. Restart the Enterprise Vault File Placeholder Service.


How to uninstall this hotfix:

The following steps are to be performed on the File Server:

1. Stop Enterprise Vault File Placeholder Service.

2. Go to the command prompt and run the following command:

fltmc unload evfilter

3. Copy the following file from the backup location to the Enterprise Vault installation folder:  

EvPlaceholderService.exe

5. Copy the evmf.sys file from the backup location to the following location:

C:\Windows\system32\drivers

6. Go to the command prompt and run the following command:

fltmc load evfilter

7. Restart the Enterprise Vault File Placeholder Service.
