RTP 6.5 Pack RTP_6.5.1 README                                     June 30, 2009

The Veritas NetBackup RealTime Protection 6.5.1 release adds support for
the Windows Server 2008 operating system for application hosts.  This
release supports new and existing installations of RealTime 6.5.  This
release cannot be used to upgrade from a release prior to 6.5.  To
upgrade to RealTime 6.5.1 from a release prior to 6.5, install the 6.5
release first, then install the 6.5.1 release.

additional release information.  The Release Notes document is included
in the NB_RTP_6.5.1_Windows.zip file.

IV. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
=============================

NOTE: Click on the "Download Now" link, near the bottom of this
document prior to using the following installation procedure.

Prerequisites:
--------------
Before installing the RealTime application components on Windows, your system
must meet the following criteria:

  a. You must have added the host to the RealTime Server configuration prior to
     installing RealTime on that host.

  b. You must open port 1556 before you install the RealTime client package.

  c. For Windows 2008, you must set the system's SAN policy to OnlineAll.
     Set the system's SAN policy to OnlineAll using the diskpart utility:
     C:\>DISKPART.EXE
     DISKPART> san policy=OnlineAll
DISKPART> san
Policy=onlineAll
DISKPART> exit

To install:
-----------
1) Run Setup.exe.
  For a Windows 2008 Server Core installation, you will need to use the cmd shell
  to navigate to the folder containing the unzipped packages and invoke Setup.exe
  from the command line.

2) Follow the wizard, providing all requested information.

V. UNINSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
=========================

The following procedure uninstalls this release only from your
application host machine.

To Uninstall:
-------------
1) Login as Administrator.

2) Click Start and select Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
The Add/Remove Programs window appears.

3) Select "Netbackup RealTime Client" and click "Remove".
