How to update multiple Remote Agents with RAWSBulkUpdate.exe


Solution



RAWSBulkUpdate.exe can be used to update multiple Remote Agents.
 
To use RAWSBulkUpdate:
  
1. Go to \Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec
 
   Run RAWSBulkUpdate.exe
 
   The Utility will open and load any auto discovered Remote Agents.

2. Click Add to select additional Remote Agents.
 
   In the Add screen, enter the name of the server or browse to it. Then enter the Credentials for the server.

3.  Select Edit to change the Credentials or Reboot Option for one or more Remote Agent servers.

4. Select Validate or Validate All to check the Credentials of the servers and the current Remote Agent status.
 
  This must be done before proceeding.
 
  When validated, the Status column will show updates being applied for that server.

5. Select Next and review the Summery
 
6. Select Install and the install will begin.

NOTE: In Backup Exec 2010 and greater the utility had been replaced with a option to import an export remote computers from a selected list or favorite resources. See Related Documents (HOWTO22499).
