V-79-57344-33935 - The backup-to-disk folder that was specified for this job ran out of disk space. The backup set has been deleted, and the backup-to-disk folder has been paused. Either free some disk space, or specify a different backup-to-disk folder for the job.

Error

V-79-57344-33935 - The backup-to-disk folder that was specified for this job ran out of disk space. The backup set has been deleted, and the backup-to-disk folder has been paused. Either free some disk space, or specify a different backup-to-disk folder for the job.

Solution

Running a job to disk fails with the above error.

SOLUTIONS:

Check the volume and available space where the backup-to-disk folder resides. If the volume is out of space, it will be necessary to create space and un-pause the backup-to-disk folder or use a backup-to-disk folder on another volume with available space. To create additional space by deleting older backup-to-disk files, there are two options:

Adjust the OPP (Overwrite Protection Period) on the job's media set
(example: Changing the media set OPP from 7 days to 5 days will make 2 days worth of backup space available for overwrite)
1. In the Backup Exec console, click the Media tab
2. Locate the job's media set, right-click and select properties
3. Decrease the OPP on the media set (according to  business needs) and click OK
4. Un-pause the backup-to-disk folder (see TechNote 309585)
5. Re-run the job

OR

Manually delete old backups
1. Refer to TechNote 240876 below
2. Un-pause the backup-to-disk folder (see TechNote 309585)
3. Re-run the job
