Solution



ISSUE:
 
Backing up CIF Shares fails with the following error:
 

 
FINAL ERROR:
 
0xe000fe29 - Authentication failed on connection to the server. Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that the password was typed correctly.
 

 
Following is observed in the SGMon.Log (See below related documents on how to enable debug using SGMon):

RESOLUTION:
 
1. Reset the password of the System Logon Account from Active Directory.
 
2. If the password was changed in Active Directory, change the password accordingly in Backup Exec the following way:
 
  • Select "Network | Logon Accounts"
  • Highlight the account System Logon Account and select "Edit"
  • Select "Change Password" and enter the new password under "Password" and "Confirm"
3. Run the backup job again
