Problem
Attempt to launch the Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery Granular Restore Option (BESR-GRO) user interface fails with error "Failed to create an IPC Port: Access is denied"
Error
Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you Quit, the application will close immediately.
Failed to create an IPC Port: Access is denied.
Solution
The above
mentioned error message may occur if BESR-GRO related file(s) or registry key(s)
is missing or corrupt on the server.
Resolution:
1) Un-install BESR-GRO.
2) Reboot the server.
3) Re-install the BESR-GRO.
Note:
1. Un-installing and Re-installing will not delete any Recovery points
2. Uninstall of Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR) is not required.
