Problem
Lights out restore (LOR) 2010 installation fails in BESRMS (Backup Exec System Recovery Management Solution) build 35656 when installed together with all products
Error
When launching the install of Backup Exec System Recovery Management Solution(BESRMS), Backup Exec System Recovery(BESR), Lights Out Restore (LOR) and BESRL Management solution, at the same time Lights Out restore 2010 fails to install, and also BESRMS fails to launch.
When Lights Out restore is installed after installing BESRMS and BESR, it completes successfully.
The Lights Out Restore MSI install log file reports error "Product: LOR Package -- Error 1718. File C:\WINDOWS\Installer\271ccfd.msi was rejected by digital signature policy".
Solution
Follow the steps in Microsoft Article below:
FIX: Error message when you try to install a large Windows Installer package or a large Windows Installer patch package in Windows Server 2003 or in Windows XP: "Error 1718. File was rejected by digital signature policy" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925336
1. Open Control Panel --> Administrative Tools.
2. Double-click Local Security Policy.
3. Click Software Restriction Policies.
Note : If no software restrictions are listed, right-click Software Restriction Policies, and then click Create New Policy.
4. Under Object Type, double-click Enforcement.
5. Click All users except local administrators, and then click OK.
6. Restart the computer.
After following the above steps, local administrators can install the .msi package or the .msp package. After the package is installed, reset the enforcement level by following the previous steps.
In step 5, click All users instead of All users except local administrators. The install of all products will complete successfully.
Note : If using a multilingual SRD Lights Out Restore should be installed after installing BESR-MS and BESR.
