Attachment links not accessible when opening archived calendar items in Outlook Web Access (OWA) 2007

Solution

When using OWA 2007 to open archived calendar items with attachments, and the attachments have been stripped by policy, the attachment links are not accessible.

Workarounds:

1) Turn on the preview pane in the Calendar, the attachment links will be accessible from there.
2) Open the item from Archive Explorer

More info:

In Enterprise Vault 7.5, “Strip Calendar Attachments” is part of the mailbox policy, under the Advanced tab --> Archiving General

In Enterprise Vault 8.0 it has been renamed to “Strip Attachments to non-shortcut items”
