Installation Instructions:
1. Create a directory to download the ASL package
# mkdir /tmp/asl

2. At the bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL package

3. After downloading VRTSibmxiv_asl_aix_5.0_v4.tar_338440.gz in /tmp/asl/ directory, verify the cksum of the file
# cksum VRTSibmxiv_asl_aix_5.0_v4.tar_338440.gz

4. Uncompress the file and extract the .bff ASL package
# gunzip VRTSibmxiv_asl_aix_5.0_v4.tar_338440.gz
# tar xvf VRTSibmxiv_asl_aix_5.0_v4.tar_338440

5. Before installing the ASL package, ensure that Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled
# vxdctl mode

# installp -acXd VRTSibmxiv.bff VRTSibmxiv

7. After the ASL package is installed, execute the vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array:
# vxdctl enable

8. After running vxdctl enable, verifiy the output of the vxddladm listsupport command as follows:
#  vxddladm listsupport libname=libvxxiv.so

9. Verify the ASL library version
# vxddladm listversion libname=libvxxiv.so
libvxxiv.so has version string: vm-5.0-rev-2. VXVM version: 5.0
