Solution

There are two possible causes for this situation:
  • The corporate edition product scans a temporary file created by the Symantec domino product. When the temporary file contains the signature of a virus in quarantine the corporate product detects this as a full version. It processes the file according to the options configured. To prevent this situation from occurring. Configure the Symantec software to use a directory other than the default, and then exclude the new directory from scans. See the following Symantec Knowledge Base document for details: Preventing Norton? or Symantec? AntiVirus Corporate Edition from scanning Norton AntiVirus for Lotus Notes temporary folder on a Notes Server or Preventing Norton? or Symantec? AntiVirus Corporate Edition from scanning the temporary folder for Symantec AntiVirus/Filtering 3.x for Domino or Symantec Mail Security 4.0 for Domino on a Notes Server.
  • If Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition (NAVCE) and the Lotus Notes snap-in is installed, you may experience problems such as viruses being detected in the Temp folder. To solve, disable the Lotus Notes real-time protection.
