Issue

"Invalid or corrupt license file" error occurs when attempting to run Workbench.exe /tools=setupcapture from a network location.

Solution

I believe what it is that you are doing is from the run command, you are entering a path to workbench.exe\tools\setupcapture...... However this support is not built into the tool. You will get the error message that the license file is corrupt when doing it this way. The reason is because when you launch it from the command line, our license file never gets executed.

If you do need to run it from the command line, then the best way would be to install the minimal client on the PC. This will only install a shortcut pointing to Wise Package Studio that has been installed on the server. It will not install any other files.

To launch it from the tools menu on the server, you do need to open the Workbench up, and the run it from there.

Another option would be to set up a project, and run the setup capture as a task.

He was trying to upgrade From WPS 4.62 to 5.6 as a different user than the one who installed 4.62. So, the installation couldn't find the HKCU keys for 4.62.

Had him install the HKCU keys under his user name.
