Problem

The Replication Service Agent server is unable to connect to the Replication Management server.

Solution

Details :

When the Replication Management server (RMS) is on a subnet separate from its Replication Service Agent (RSA) server, the RSA server cannot connect to the RMS. To correct this problem, a key needs to be added to the registry on the RSA server. To do this, follow the instructions given below:

1. Click Start | Run, type regedt32, and click OK

2. Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE on the <RSA Server Name> window, from the windows available

3. Select SOFTWARE\VERITAS\ENL.

4. From the Edit menu, select Add Key

5. In the Add Key dialog box, enter Network.TCPIP in the Key Name box (the syntax is Network<dot>TCPIP)

6. Do not enter a value for the Class box.

7. Select the Network.TCPIP key.

8. From the Edit menu, select Add Value.

8. In the Add Value dialog box, enter GATEWAY in the Value Name box

9. In the Data Types list, click REG_SZ

10. Click OK

11. In the String Editor dialog box, enter the IP address of the RMS server

12. Click OK. The results will be similar to those displayed in Figure 1.

13. Close the Registry Editor.
