A virus is detected in the email message or attachment. A central quarantine server is set up for the Symantec SMTP product.


Solution



The central quarantine can forward virus infected email files to Symantec directly. This includes any email that may be a false positive, or an infected attachment in a .mes. Symantec Technical support does not recommend directly handling suspected virus infected email file.

For Symantec SMTP product installs that do not use a central quarantine, go to submit samples on the security response Web site for instructions on submitting the file.
