Error: "Error Number 0x80040707 Description: DLL function call crashed: Uninst.InstallUpgrade driver. Setup will now terminate." when installing Symantec Client VPN

Problem
When you install Symantec Client VPN 8.0, you see the following error message:
"Error Number 0x80040707 Description: DLL function call crashed: Uninst.InstallUpgrade driver. Setup will now terminate."
The installation does not finish.
Solution
This problem occurs when you try to install Symantec Client VPN 8.0 on a computer that has one of the following programs installed:
- Symantec Client Security version 2.0 or 3.0
- Symantec Antivirus version 10.0
To work around this problem, do the following:
- Uninstall Symantec Client Security or Symantec AntiVirus and then restart your computer.
- Download and install the VPN driver pre-installation utility.
- Install Symantec Client VPN.
- Reinstall Symantec Client Security or Symantec Antivirus.
The Symantec Client VPN installation process completes successfully.
