Problem
You upgraded the installation to Symantec Mail Security for SMTP 4.1.12 or later. Now you cannot access the HTTP interface (default port 8003). No errors show in the Event Viewer and mail continues to flow normally through the software,
Cause
A change in the way SMS for SMTP handles HTTP/HTTPS connections
Solution
Access the HTTPS interface for the software in order to manage the application. The default URL for HTTPS access is https://servername:8043.
Technical Information
Symantec improved the security model of Symantec Mail Security 4.1.12 for SMTP or later. Now the software enforces HTTPS access for all users while SSL is enabled. If you need to allow HTTP access, you must disable SSL in the software, and a restart is required.
