Symantec Client VPN connects, but fails to pass traffic on an HP Laptop

Issue



You can connect your Client VPN software, but ESP traffic does not get sent out by the client on an HP laptop. The HP Wireless Connection Manager is installed and running.

 


Solution



Remove the HP Wireless Connection Manager from the Startup group.

To remove the HP Wireless Connection Manager

  1. On the Windows Taskbar, click Start > Run.
  2. In the Open field, press Enter after you type the command:
    msconfig
  3. On the System Configuration Utility window, click Startup tab.
  4. Uncheck HP Wireless Assistant.
  5. Reboot the computer.


Symantec Client VPN should work as expected.
