Error 1053: Could not start the Symantec AntiVirus Scan Engine service on the Local Computer

You modified the log directory settings in Symantec AntiVirus Scan Engine so that it uses the root directory of a partition (for example, C:\ or D:\). After the change, you cannot restart the Symantec AntiVirus Scan Engine service
To resolve the problem, use a text editor such as Wordpad to modify the LogDir= line in the symcscan.cfg file. Make sure that the path that you add is a valid directory on your computer and is not the root directory of one of your partitions.
