Error: "init_modules: error while calling init function for module libipfreq." or other errors occur after a failed upgrade or the /data partition reaches 100 percent usage

Problem
Multiple errors may occur after a failed upgrade or reboot of the appliance before an upgrade of a Symantec Mail Security 8200 series or 8300 series Appliance completes. The same errors may also occur when usage of the /data partition of the Appliance reaches 100% of capacity.
Symptoms
One or more of the following errors occur in the BrightmailLog.log file:
- "init_modules: error while calling init function for module libipfreq."
- "IP Freq module: failed to ensure creation of the sender reputation DB."
- "IP Freq module: DB open failed: broken database file."
Solution
To resolve occurrences for Appliance build 5.0.0-33 or earlier:
- Backup the MySQL database of the Appliance.
- At the command line interface (CLI) of the Appliance, type:
clear all - Download the ISO image for Appliance software version 5.0.0-36 or later, burn the ISO to CD-ROM, and reinstall the operating system of the Appliance.
- Restore the backup of the MySQL database.
To resolve occurrences for Appliance build 5.0.0-36 or later:
- At the CLI, determine the amount of free space on the /data partition by typing: system-stats
- If the available hard drive space seems low, type:
crawler - If the available hard drive space seems low, type:
deleter -all - At the CLI of Appliance scanner version 5.0.0-36 or later, type:
clear ipfreq.db
