Issue

The GAIM IM client has an encryption plug-in available (http://gaim-encryption.sourceforge.net/). Use of this plug-in encrypts IM conversations such that the actual IM message content is not viewable. This encrypted content is logged in the IM Manager database.

Solution

This plug-in can be blocked through the use of IM Manager content filtering functionality. Add the following phrase to your IM Manager Content Filtering List:

GAIM-encryption
