Log Message: "ERROR: Unable to bind to port xxxx"

Problem
Scan Engine fails to scan a file. Logs contain message "unable to bind to port xxxx".
Symptoms
In Application Logs of Windows Event Viewer, one or more events contain message "unable to bind to port xxxx".
- Results of netstat -anb fail to show any activity on that port.
Conditions
- Scan engine is configured to use Native or ICAP protocol.
- Scan Engine is installed on Windows 2003 Enterprise Server.
Solution
In the web interface, click Configuration > Protocol.
- Remove the contents of the field "Scan Engine bind address".
- Click Confirm changes.
- Restart the Scan Engine service.
