Issue



An issue has been found when using Backup Exec Agent for Enterprise Vault to backup an Enterprise Vault partition. Backup of an Enterprise Vault Store partition, residing on a mount point, completes successfully but fails to backup any data.

Environment



The issue outlined herein occurs only when the following conditions are met:

Backup Exec 12.0 revision 1364 for Windows Servers is installed
OR
Backup Exec 12.5 revision 2213 for Windows Servers is installed
AND
Enterprise Vault Partition resides on a mount point
 


Cause



Backup of an Enterprise Vault partition residing on a mount point completes successfully. However, the archive bit on the .DVS files in the vault partition is not reset.


Solution



Resolution:
A Hotfix is now available to address this issue for all the affected versions of Backup Exec.

Workaround:
To workaround the above mentioned issue please follow the steps mentioned below:
  1. Create Enterprise Vault Store Partition in a folder under a mount point.
  2. Move the .DVS files from the root of the mount point to the folder on mount point.
