The issue outlined herein occurs only when the following conditions are met:
Backup Exec 12.0 revision 1364 for Windows Servers is installed
Backup Exec 12.5 revision 2213 for Windows Servers is installed
Enterprise Vault Partition resides on a mount point
Backup of an Enterprise Vault partition residing on a mount point completes successfully. However, the archive bit on the .DVS files in the vault partition is not reset.
A Hotfix is now available to address this issue for all the affected versions of Backup Exec.
Backup Exec 12.5 Revision 2213
For 32bit Media Servers: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH125913
Backup Exec 12.0 Revision 1364 Service Pack 5 http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH136143
To workaround the above mentioned issue please follow the steps mentioned below:
- Create Enterprise Vault Store Partition in a folder under a mount point.
- Move the .DVS files from the root of the mount point to the folder on mount point.
Backup of EV store partitions on mount point does not backup files.
