Error "Backend Replied" found in NDR and outbound email is not delivered to intended recipient

Outbound email is bounced and NDR is received. In the NDR you found error "Backend Replied" and you would like to know what this means.

Solution



When you see "Backend Replied" in an error, it means that the recipient mail server did not accept the message and Symantec Hosted Mail Security had to bounce the error back to the sender. Make sure that the recipient mail server technician is aware of the message rejection. This can be identified by the decimal error.
