When Symantec Antivirus for Network Attached Storage 5.x scans a file with a Japanese filename, the Scan Engine logs record Error 6.
- In addition to having a Japanese filename, the length of the full path to the file is 236 characters in length or longer.
- The resulting error message is:
The Scan Engine has encountered a scan error Event Severity Level : Error Scanner : Generic Result ID : 6 File name:……."
Please upgrade to Scan Engine 5.2.5 or later.
If you are unable to upgrade immediately, Symantec suggests you to avoid placing files with Japanese filenames into locations which have paths exceeding 235 characters in length.
