Problem
Messages being rejected with a "501: Invalid Domain"
Symptoms
Some messages are getting rejected from Symantec Mail Securty for Domino with Premium AntiSpam enabled, without leaving behind any log.
Cause
Section 4.1.2 of RFC 2821 (ftp://ftp.rfc-editor.org/in-notes/rfc2821.txt) states the underscore is not permited in domain labels for SMTP clients or servers.
Solution
Change the host name to no longer include an underscore.
- Add the following line in the notes.ini file to relax the Premium AntiSpam RCF compliance enforcement:
PASRelaxRFC=1
