After opening the browser to login to the Brightmail Control Center, the error occurs: "HTTP STATUS 500 - The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request."

Solution



Close the Brightmail Control Center. Stop and then restart the Tomcat service.

To access the Service Manager and stop the Tomcat service:

  1. Open Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
  2. Scroll to the Tomcat service.
  3. Double-click the Tomcat service.
  4. Click the Stop button.
  5. After the Tomcat service has fully stopped, click the Start button to restart the service.


After the Tomcat service has started, open the Brightmail Control Center to login.
