Issue



The Application Log of Windows Event of Windows Event Viewer shows "CAVA has detected the termination of the resident Symantec SAV SE".

Symptoms
  • In the Application Log of the Windows Event Viewer, the following event appears:
    Eventid: 143
    Source: CAVA
    Type: Error
    Description: CAVA has detected the termination of the resident Symantec SAV SE. CAVA will no longer process Celerra AV requests until the resident antivirus software is restarted.



Cause



The Symantec Scan Engine has stopped.

Solution



  1. Start the Symantec Scan Engine service.
  2. If an error appears in a dialog box, at the command line, or in the Application Log or System Log of the Windows Event Viewer, troubleshoot and resolve the error.
