Cause



Symantec Help (SymHelp) checks several locations in the Windows registry that indicate that Windows needs to be restarted. The need for a restart can be because...

  • Windows is attempting to update or delete a file that is in use
  • A program, update, or hotfix has been installed or removed
  • A Windows Update Agent has requested a restart
  • A Symantec product requires a restart
