How to change communication port in Apache Web Server used by the SEPM and SPC?

Issue



Due to a port conflict in the network, the Apache Web Server port used by the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) and the Symantec Protection Center needs to be changed.


Symptoms
Need to change the communication port (8014) in Conf.properties, as the SPC or SEPM services not started due to a port conflict

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1

Symantec Protection Center 2.1


Solution



Follow the steps below to change communication port in Apached Web Server:

  1. Go to
    (For SPC) "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Protection Center\apache\conf" folder.
    (For SEPM) "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\apache\conf" folder.
  2. Open httpd.conf file in a notepad
  3. Look for "Listen 8014" (Default port) and change it as per requirement




Technical Information
If need to specify a specific IP address or if more than two IP addresses on a machine,  open the httpd.conf file and remove # sign from Listen 12.34.56.78:80 and input the specific IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:
