Cause

The keystore was tampered.

Solution

Verify that the passwords are same in the SERVER.XML which is located under (C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\conf). The server.xml file name is server_<timestamp>.xml.

  1. Locate your current keystore file. The keystore file name is keystore_<timestamp>.jks. The keystore contains the private-public key pair and the self-signed certificate.
  2. Locate your backup keystore file from a backup or from the installation backup. (During the installation, these files were backed up to the directory that is named \\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Server Private Key Backup).
  3. Restore the keystore from backup, and paste it in the Tomcat etc folder Example: ( C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\etc)
