Problem
You have installed Symantec Protection Center (SPC) TrialWare and SEP 12 TrialWare managed client. Is it possible to migrate this setup from TrialWare version to Licensed version without uninstalling SPC TrialWare or the SEP 12 TrialWare managed clients?
Solution
Yes. Unlike SEP 11, it is possible to migrate SEP 12 for SB TrialWare setup to Licensed version without uninstalling existing setup. This can be done simply by 'importing' a license file from Symantec Protection Center. (Please refer: How to install a license in Symantec Protection Center Small Business Edition: http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/docid/2009011911404248)
NOTE:
- Only SEP 12 for SB TrialWare 'managed' clients can be migrated to Licensed version without uninstalling them.
- For 'Unmanaged' or 'self-managed' TrialWare clients, you must uninstall them first and then install a Licensed version.
