How to restore Windows Vista system files

How to replace a missing or corrupted system file or driver


Extract the file using the automated System File Checker

    1. Click Start and type in the search box cmd
    2. Right-click on cmd under programs and choose Run as administrator
    3. In the User Account Control pop-up choose Continue
    4. In the command prompt type the following:

      sfc /scannow

    5. Press ENTER.
