Scan Engine 5.x interface displays LiveUpdate Status of Av Definitions as "Unable to Update"

Issue



After installing and licensing Scan Engine 5.x, you attempt to run LiveUpdate Content. Instead of completing, the LiveUpdate Status for the Av Definitions changes to "Unable to Update". You seek steps for troubleshooting this symptom.


Solution



  • Clear browser cache
  • Check license status in the Scan Engine interface
  • Attempt to download livetri.zip using a web browser
  • Check liveupdt.log file for errors
  • If all else fails, uninstall and reinstall Scan Engine
